Employed as Instructor at the department of Radiation Oncology. Acquired expert knowledge of the CMS radiation treatment planning system, FOCUS, through a faculty grant. Designed the pages, wrote the integration and clinical test cases, and performed the water phantom tests for the new CMS tissue compensator feature.
Assisted faculty on diagnostic equipment inspections, diagnostic equipment commissioning, radiation shielding, and radiation safety duties at a Level I trauma hospital, Denver General (now Denver Health). Performed radiation oncology treatment planning, chart checks, and dose calibration at University Hospital.
Taught the computed tomography lab for medical physics students. Designed, in part, the C++ windows user interface for Monte Carlo calculation of internal radiation dose, MABDOSE.
Gulf (now Chevron U.S.A.), Houston, Texas, 1980 - 1992
Solved 3D residual reflection statics barrier by applying overlapping 2.5D methods. Explored whether patterns in seismic thickening could separate sequence boundaries using a neural network classifier. Pioneered a unique and integrated event oriented amplitude with offset display widely used at Chevron. Processed many domestic and international 3D seismic data projects as part of a small team of Chevron specialists for 2 years. Programmed and led a team in the construction of a 3D radial refraction analysis package. Delivered weekly presentations of results in progress to senior management on the highly visible 3D assignment. Co-instructed and organized workshops for Chevron's Seismic Modeling School for 2 years. Trained geologists in cross training assignments and applied diverse geophysical technology to many projects.
